Under the light-flooded Pergola in Ravello, belonging to the Palazzo Afflitto, which was later to house the Hotel Belvedere, stands an Italian woman with a basket of flowers and her kind in the wide corridor. Thickly overgrown with flowers and bushes, the stone walls with the mighty columns lead up a staircase. Covered by the wooden frames that rest on the crevices and that the plants entwine. There are still some flower pots on the wall. Especially pink and white roses and plants bloom in the aisle. Mönsted succeeds here in changing the new and warm southern Italy and capturing them on the screen in unsurpassed mastery.
