As so often in the works of Peder Mönsted, the Spring day radiates perfect peace. The view falls over a calm lake on the opposite shore, from which a deciduous forest rises in the landscape. In front of it stands a white house, from which paths lead along the footbridge and the shore. A little girl with chickens animates the scene. Via a fence leading to the right, the view is led into the distance and gives way to the light blue, slightly cloudy sky. On the right edge a leafless tree frames the neckline. The size and material of the work indicate that Mönsted painted the work plein-air (in nature) and was thus able to capture the sunny day directly.

Spring Day is included in the supplement of the catalog raisonné (Paffrath 2013) under the number 1902_27.
