Beach fun is one of Gilsoul's early works, as the Impressionist style is unmistakable. Dressed in the fashion of the late 19th century and protected from the sun with a straw hat and a parasol, a young woman from a higher family sits on the sandy beach, dressed in white. A high dune towers behind her, on which the Belgian flag flies. A little behind the young woman is a green beach house, in front of which children play. The summery, fresh atmosphere is reflected in the bright colours and the lively brushstroke.
