In the middle of Rome, on the banks of the Tiber, we look at the Castel Sant'Angelo, which was originally a mausoleum for the Roman emperors and then became a protective castle for the popes. The angel bridge leads from our bank to the fortress on which the magnificent angel figures of Bernini are placed. In the distance, St. Peter's Basilica rises majestically. The sun is just setting and the last rays bathe the scenery in golden-yellow light that is also reflected on the water. The illuminated clouds shine over the city. If the image sections are often only hinted at structurally, he keeps the exact description of the details down to the most distant parts in this work.
