Information about the artist

The painter Nikola Mašić studied art in Vienna, Munich and Paris. Since 1884 he has been a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and in 1894 he became the director of the Strossmayer Gallery, the Museum of European Art of the 14th - 19th century in Zagreb. In his paintings, he prefered genre motifs, which he painted in an idyllic manner.
