Rudolf Hacke studied at the Art Academy in Berlin and Dresden as pupil of Eugen Bracht. Starting from 1910, many of his works were exhibited. In 1913 he started to take photographs of Berlin and Brandenburg. After the First World War Hacke settled down in Silesia. He went on trips to Italy, Finland and South Tyrol, where he studied landscapes and created portraits.
