The still life painter Adelheid Dietrich was taught by her father, the Erfurt landscape painter Eduard Dietrich, and already debuted in 1847 and 1848 with fruit and flower paintings at the art exhibition in Dresden. She oriented herself on Dutch masters and received much praise from the art criticics. As a result, she exhibited at many important art exhibitions in Germany over the next 30 years, such as in Berlin, Bremen, Dresden and Kassel. She made several study trips through Germany and Italy.
Her paintings are not only in German collections, but also in American museums, galleries and private collections. In 2004/05 the Erfurter Angermuseum organized an exhibition about the artist.
