Information about the artist

Jules-Cyrille Cavé was a pupil of Adolphe William Bouguereau and Tony Robert-Fleury. Above all, he was famous for history paintings, genre scenes, portraits and floral still lifes. Since 1885, he has been hosting the Salon des Artistes Français every year with flower and portrait pieces. He has received several awards, including the 3rd medal for "Un martyre aux catacombes" in 1883 and some bronze medals. He was a member of the Société des Artistes français and the Comité de l'Association Taylor.
Jules-Cyrille Cavé's paintings are mostly in French, English and American private collections.
